Catherine Broughton is a writer, poet and artist. She is the author of 4 novels as well as a series of books for children. These have been written in her spare time over the last decade or so. In the last 2 years she has been able to devote a lot more time and energy in to learning how to get her work published and discovering the world of online marketing resources and social networking. Catherine Broughton is English and is in her early sixties. She was born in South Africa, the second of seven children. Her father, a man from Somerset in the UK, was a doctor of tropical disease and his work took the family all over the world. They spent many exciting years in various parts of Africa, the South Pacific, Switzerland and more. Later in life, with her own children, Catherine lived abroad and visited many countries around the world. Her novels reflect the expatriate lifestyle and tales of travel. For many years Catherine did illustrations almost uniquely for charity cards, gifts to relatives or fund raising for the church, and has only recently been drawing and painting regularly, usually creating at last one piece a day to accompany her daily blog. Several of her sketches have been used in magazines. She is the author many articles, poems and short stories as well as her novels. Catherine Broughton attended London University where she did a BA (Hons) in French; in later years she also achieved a BA (Hons) in History of Art with the Open University. Catherine is an entrepreneur and a hardnosed business woman, together with her husband Bruce they have battled their way up from workers positions through five different businesses of their own, two financial crises, moving to France with 3 small children in the late 80’s and starting again from almost nothing in a foreign country. Twenty-three years after moving to France with only the few boxes of belongings that they owned, they have many tales to tell and they have achieved what they have worked so hard for. She is happily married with three children and two grandchildren. She lives mostly in the France with extended patches in UK and in Belize.
